Joan Rivers Makes Anti Semitic Joke At Expense Of Teenage Olympian

We all realize that comedian Joan Rivers has never been known for her tact, class or political correctness during her long comedy career, but a post made today on her Facebook page may have gone too far.
After posing for a photograph with Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman, Rivers took to Facebook and posted the picture with the following caption:
Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman is on tonight’s Fashion Police! A cute Jewish girl…of course she took home the gold!
It goes without saying that Rivers was obviously digging up one of the oldest stereotypes used against Jewish people that anyone can find, but the bigger issue is that she lobbed it directly at Raisman rather than making one of her generalized jokes at someone else’s expense.
And yeah, yeah, yeah it can be pointed out that Joan Rivers is Jewish too, but it doesn’t make it any less awkward and eyebrow raising to see it posted on Facebook, but one would guess the last time Joan Rivers could raise her eyebrows was about 15 years ago.

Joan is no threat to anything or anyone. Meh.
Joan is Jewish, do she can make those jokes.
I think maybe in private it might be a different story, but when you make comments like that in public, it invites others to make those same comments about Aly too, and those people might not have her best interests at heart.
